1. Anti-inflammatory
Shea butter is an example of a butter with high levels of compounds know as triterpenes which contain anti-inflammatory properties and when applied to the skin help to soother irritated skin. Plant butters in general have great anti-inflammatory properties and encourage new cell development and skin growth making them a great treatment for tender skin caused by tanning or shaving.
2. Barrier protection
Butters have protective properties to restore flexibility and reduce degeneration of skin cells.
3. Protect Against Sun Damage
Contain vitamins A, C & E: antioxidants protect the skin from free radicals and decrease the environmental impact on the skin.
4. High in Antioxidants
Antioxidants reduce the occurrence of oxidative stress on the skin and as a result can help to minimize the appearance of wrinkles, lines and other signs of aging.
5. Hair Care
Impart conditioning properties to hair. Moisturise and strengthen the hair and can also reduce hair loss and breakage.
